You can configure the server to start Compaq Utilities in four different ways:
Without remote console support; for example, to run Compaq Utilities from the server
console only
With remote console support using modems for dial-in access
With remote console support using a modem to dial a predetermined telephone number
With remote console support through a network connection (IP or IPX)

ASR-2 Features
Features Definition
Software error recovery If enabled, ASR-2 is activated if the OS hangs or has a crash
that results in a lockup.
Software error recovery time-out Determines how long the server waits to enable ASR-2 after an
OS lockup
Standby recovery server option If enabled, ASR-2 activation initiates a switch to a standby
recovery server.
Standby recovery server port Port used to communicate with the recovery server.
Standby recovery time-out Determines how long the server waits to initiate switch after
ASR-2 activation.
Software error recovery boot option Allows the server to restart either into the OS or into Compaq
Utilities.
Thermal shutdown If enabled, shuts down the server if a critical thermal error
occurs.
UPS shutdown If enabled, allows the server to perform a shutdown if a UPS is
activated.
UPS shutdown threshold Determines how long the server waits to shut down after the
UPS is activated. If desired, this number should provide enough
time for an administrator to perform any necessary operations or
to gracefully shut down the server.
