Technical data

inherited an MSA1000 that was used previously. Use the SHOW UNIT
command, as shown in Example 4-7, to determine if there are any
existing LUNs.
Example 4-7: Using the SHOW UNIT Command to Display Existing LUNs
MSA1000-1> SHOW UNIT
.
.
.
If there are existing LUNs that you want to remove, delete one LUN at
a time with the DELETE UNIT command, as shown in Example 4-8.
____________________ Note _____________________
If more than one LUN has been created, only the last LUN
created may be deleted. The MSA1000 adds LUNs in
numerical order, so only the LUN with the highest number
can be deleted.
If you try to delete a unit other than the last unit created,
you will be prevented from doing so.
If you try to delete multiple units, for example units 1-7, you
can not do it even if storage unit 7 is the highest number
storage unit.
If you need to start with a clean MSA1000 with no units
created, you can delete all units with the DELETE UNIT ALL
-Y command.
Example 4-8: Deleting a LUN
MSA1000-1> DELETE UNIT 7
Data will be lost after the unit is deleted.
Do you still want to DELETE unit 7? (Y/N)? Y
Please wait while unit 7 is being deleted...
Unit 7 is deleted successfully.
5. Display a list of all installed disks recognized by the MSA1000, as
shown in Example 4-9.
