1 The MSA1000 detects all the Fibre Channel host bus adapters that
have access to the MSA1000 and creates connections for them. As
the connectionhas not been assigned a name, the name is unknown.
There is one information set for each Fibre Channel host bus
adapter.
2 The node WWN for the Fibre Channel host bus adapter.
3 The port WWN for the Fibre Channel host bus adapter. For those
Fibre Channel host bus adapters that have only one channel, it is
the same as the node WWN except for the most significant digit (2
for the node WWN, and 1 for the port WWN).
4 The profile that is set for this connection. The default profile is
for the Windows operating systems and must be changed.
3. A profile name of default indicates that the profile for that connection
is Windows. The profile must be changed to Tru64.
It is difficult to try and keep track of the Fibre Channel node or port
WWNs, so you may also want to change the name of the connection from
unknown to something more meaningful. In Example 4-5, the name of
each connection is changed, and the profile is changed to Tru64. Obtain
the port WWN for each Fibre Channel host bus adapter from Table A-1.
The names used in Example 4-5 are taken from Table 4-1.
