Before using this product, please follow and adhere to all warnings, safety, and operating instructions located on the product and in this User ’s Manual. Do Not expose the product to water or moisture.
Do Not attempt to disassemble the product – doing so will void the warranty. This product does not contain consumer-serviceable components. Service should be performed only by Authorized Service Centers. Do Not remove the antenna. A detached antenna may be a choking hazard for children. Do Not allow battery to be placed inside the mouth. Electrolytes could be released and may be toxic if swallowed.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PHONE LED Indicator : Flashes to indicate an incoming call or message. It also lights up (flashes) when you turn on the phone. Backlit LCD Screen : The LCD screen contains three areas; - The top line displays indication about your phone’s operating mode. - Two lines in the middle are the display areas for numbers and characters. - The bottom line displays menus. M enu Keys ( / ) : This key performs several useful functions. - During incoming calls, press it to answer the incoming call.
- During a call, press it to control earpiece volume. END/ Key : Press this key to disconnect a call or to return to Standby Mode from any menu. Press and hold this key to turn the phone On or Off. SEND Key : This key performs several useful functions. - Dial a number and press it to connect. - Press it once to redial the last outgoing number. Numeric Keys : These keys are to dial and to input numbers and characters. * : This key performs several useful functions.
DISPLAY INDICATORS Display indicators appear across the bottom of your phone’s LCD screen. These display indicators (or icons) will vary based on your phone’s operating modes. Signal strength : This icon shows your current signal strength. More lines indicate more signal strength. Five lines indicate maximum strength, and one line indicates least strength. No service indicator : This icon indicates your phone cannot find a signal because you’re outside a service area.
BATTERY INFORMATION Your phone comes with a partially charged, rechargeable Li-ion battery so that you can use the phone immediately after it is activated. Installing the Battery. To insert the battery into your phone: 1. Remove the battery compartment cover of the phone by sliding it down. 2. Put the battery pack into the battery cradle. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it up towards the phone. 4. Charge the battery pack for at least 3 hours prior to using it. Charging the Battery.
Failure to do so may cause damages to the phone. A completely discharged standard battery recharges fully in approximately tbd hours. The extended battery recharges in approximately tbd hours. Leaving your phone turned on during charging, or charging batteries simultaneously, will increase charging time. Leaving the battery in the charger once it is fully charged does not harm the battery. WARNING After the battery is fully charged, the battery can be discharged.
battery power is conserved. The phone will automatically recheck for a signal periodically. To manually force the phone to recheck for a signal, press any key. A message on the display will let you know when the phone is operating in Power Save Mode. Conversation Mode. You can place and answer calls only when your phone is turned on. During a call, the phone is in Conversation Mode.
BASIC FUNCTIONS 1. Making a Call. In standby mode, enter the phone number (up to 32 digits) by pressing the digit keys. The phone number is displayed from left to right. Press “SEND”. The phone places the call to the entered phone number (if service is available). 2. Ending a Call. To end a call, press “END/ ”. The call time (length of the call) will be displayed along with the name or number of the called party (if available). The phone returns to Standby Mode automatically. 3. Answering a Call.
6. Adjusting Earpiece Volume During a Call To adjust earpiece volume during a call, press “ ” to increase or decrease earpiece volume. 7. Using Caller ID If you registered Caller Identification Service to your service provider, you can see the sender ’s phone number. Also the phone will store received, missed and dialed numbers up to 20. If you want to redial the number you dialed, received and missed. simply press “SEND”, - Then you can see up to 20 numbers on logs orderly in timely bases.
If you are in AMPS service area or out of no service area, your phone cannot show you a correct time. In this case, you can set the time as below: - Press “OPER ( )” in standby mode. - Enter the date and time orderly and press “OK ( 15 )” to save.
MENUS I. PHONE BOOK 1. Call List a. Missed Call To see the phone number that you missed, press “MENU ( )”, “1. Phonebook”, “1. Call List” and “1. Missed”. Then you can see the last 20 numbers you missed. Scroll “ “DEL ( ” to select a number and press “VIEW( )” to see the time you received. Or press )” to delete. 2. Phone Book Search You can go to phonebook list by pressing “ ” to see all the phone number list you stored alphabetically. Enter the name you want to call. - If you don’t remember the full name, just enter the first letter of the name.
- Place the cursor on the number you want to dial by scrolling “ ” and “ ”. - Press “SEND” to dial. Or press “View ( )” to edit or “Del ( )” to delete. 3. Storing Phone Numbers Phone numbers for frequently used services are pre-programmed into your phone. To store a number, - Press “Menu ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and “3. Phone # Store”. Or you can press “Menu - ( )”. Enter the location number you want to store in. - Press “ ” and enter the name. - Press “ ” and enter the phone number.
6. Delete Phone Book If you want to clear call lists, which you missed, called, received and stored in Phone Book. - Press “Menu ( - Scroll “ - Press “Ok ( )” , “1. Phone Book” and choose “6. Delete All”. ” and choose call list you want to delete by press “SEL ( )” to erase. 19 )”.
II. MESSAGE SERVICES Your phone can receive two types of message services – text messages and voice mails – and it can send out text messages (SMS: Short Messaging Service), if these services are available from your service provider. If you subscribe to either one or bot h services, callers can leave you text messages or leave messages in voice mail. Your service provider then transmits the text messages and voice mail notifications to your phone. 1.
- Choose “4. Contents Store”. The you can store a message content as the same manner as “1. Message Write” in “3. Message Box” in “II. Message” on page ____. - If you wish to call the sender back, press “SEND ” while you are reading the message. Then “Call back #” appears on screen. b. Send Text Message You can send the text messages through your phone. To edit and send the text message, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and “2. Outbox”. Send New Message - Press “1. New Message”.
Send Message That You Already Sent Out You can also send a message that you already sent out. - Press “3. Sent Message” and choose a message you want to send out by pressing “OK ( )”. Then whole contents will be shown on the display. - Press “MENU ( Store”. )” to choose “1. Forwarding”, “2. Number Store” or “3. Contents - How to forward a message and how to store a phone number and contents, refer to “1. Reading Text Message” on page ___.

IV. SOUND MENU 1. Incoming Rings You can set the alert for incoming calls in 5 different ways. (Bell, Vibration, BellàVibration, VibrationàBell). - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “1. Incoming Ring”. - Select “Bell”, “Vibrator” “BellàVib” or “VibàBell” by scrolling “ - Press “OK ( ” )” to set. 2. Ring Type This option enables you to set the sound of ringing in 10 different bells and 10 different melodies. - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound” and “2. Ring Type” and choose “1. Bell Type” or “2.
a. Connection “Connection” option allows you to hear a tone when a call is connected. - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound”, “5. Alert” and “1. Connection Alert”. - Choose “on” or “off and press “OK ( b. Call Drop )” to set. “Call Drop” option allows you to hear a warning tone when a call is disconnected accidentally or when the caller hangs up the phone. - Press “Menu ( )”, “4. Sound”, “5. V. SECURITY FUNCTION Your phone provides many security options, including a user -programmable lock code and call restric tion features. To access the Security Menu in Standby Mode, press “Menu ( Security” and enter the four-digit password. )” and “5. Note: The password is “0000” if you don’t have your phone number yet or the last 4 digits of your number if you already have your phone number. If you want to change the password, see “Changing Password” on page . 1.
- Choose “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set. 4. Voice Privacy You can set “Voice Privacy” on or off. - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. Press “4. Voice Privacy.” - Choose “on” or “off” and press “OK ( )” to set. 5. Network Change You can choose the network CDMA or Analog. - Press “Menu ( )” and “5. Security” and enter the password. Press “5. Network”. - Scroll “ ” to chose “Automatic”, “Only CDMA”, “Only Analog” or “Temp Analog”. - Press “OK ( )” to set. 6.
VI. PIM (Personal Information Management) Your phone support you various additional functions, such as “Alarm”, “Schedule”, “Calendar”, “Calculator”, “Memo” and “World Time”. 1. Alarm You can set the 24-hour alarm to sound an alert at the set time, when your phone is on. If the phone is off at the alarm set time, the alarm will not sound. To set the alarm, press “Menu ( and “6. PIM” and choose “1. Alarm”.
b. Schedule List : You can see the schedule list you stored. - Select “2. Schedule List”. Then you can see the schedule list orderly. - If you want to edit the schedule, scroll “ - Choose “1: Contents”, “2: Time” or “3: Alarm Type” and press “OK ( - Press “EDIT ( )”. Edit contents, time or alarm type and press “OK ( Or you can delete a schedule by simply pressing “DEL”. ” and press “OK ( )” to choose. )”. )” to save. c. VII. CALL FUNCTION 1. Call Forward You have to register “Call Forward” to your service provider prior to using this function. a. Unconditional : if you want to forward a call whenever you receive a call. - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “1. Call Forward” and “1. Unconditional”. - Enter the phone number that you want to forward and press “OK ( )”. - If you want to reset, press “RESET ( )”. b. Busy Call Forward : if you want to forward a call when you are calling.
4. Service Access Number Edit If you want to set or edit an access number for additional services, such as “Unconditional, “Busy”, “No answer”, “Unreachable”, “Voice Mail”, “Call Waiting” and “Caller ID”; a. Service Number Set - Press “Menu ( )” and “7. Call Function”, “3. Service Edit” and “1. Set Number”. - Press “NEXT ( )” or “ ” to choose “Unconditional, “Busy”, “No answer”, “Unreachable”, “Voice Mail”, “Call Waiting” or “Caller ID”. - Enter the access number and press “OK ( )” to save. b.
Using Menu During a Call 1. Phone Book During a call, press “Menu ( )”, “1. Phone Book” and choose “1. Call List”, “2. Search”, “3. Phone # Store” or “4. My Phone #”. Then you can use Phone book as same as “I. PhoneBook” on page ___. In addition, if you want to send your phone number during a call, choose “4. My Phone #” and press “SEND ( )”. 2. Message During a call, press “Menu ( )”, “2. Message” and choose “1. Inbox”, “2. Outbox”, “3. Message Box” or “4. Setting”.
ENTERING LETTERS & NUMBERS You can enter letters, as well as numbers, when storing numbers and names into your phone or when sending out text messages (SMS : Short Messaging Service) by using your keypad. To enter letters, press the key associated with the letter you wish to enter until it appears on the screen (numbers also appear). When you enter the letters, it automatically switches to ABC mode. The letters will be displayed in capital letters. 1.
