USBdrive,youcantroubleshootandfixtheproblemsevenifthepreinstalledWindowsrecoveryprograms
aredamaged.
CreatingarecoveryUSBdrive
TheUSBdrivethatyouusetocreatetherecoveryUSBdriveshouldbeatleast16GBofstorage.Theactual
USBcapacitythatisrequireddependsonthesizeoftherecoveryimage.
Attention:ThecreationprocessdeletesanythingstoredontheUSBdrive.Toavoiddataloss,makea
backupcopyofallthedatathatyouwanttokeep.
TocreatearecoveryUSBdrive,dothefollowing:

1.SwipeinfromtherightedgeofthescreentodisplaythecharmsandtapSearch.
2.TyperecoveryintheSearchfield.ThentapCreatearecoverydrive.
3.TapYesintheUserAccountControlwindowtoallowtheRecoveryMediaCreatorprogramtostart.
4.EnsurethatyouselectCopytherecoverypartitionfromthePCtotherecoverydrive.ThentapNext.
Important:IfyouclearCopytherecoverypartitionfromthePCtotherecoverydrive,youwill
createarecoveryUSBdrivewithouttherecoverypartitioncontent.Youstillcanstartthetabletfrom
therecoveryUSBdrive,butyoumightbeunabletorecoveryourtabletiftherecoverypartitionon
yourtabletisdamaged.
5.ConnectaproperUSBdrive,thentapNext.
6.TapCreateintheRecoveryDrivewindow.ThecreationoftherecoveryUSBdrivestarts.
7.WhenthecreationoftherecoveryUSBdrivefinishes,dooneofthefollowing:
•Tokeeptherecoverypartitiononyourtablet,tapFinish.
•Todeletetherecoverypartitiononyourtablet,tapDeletetherecoverypartition.
Attention:Ifyoudeletetherecoverypartitiononyourtablet,dokeeptherecoveryUSBdriveina
safeplace.TheWindowsrecoveryimagewillnotbestoredinyourtabletanymore,andyouwillneed
therecoveryUSBdrivetorefreshorresetyourtablet.
8.RemovetheUSBdrive.TherecoveryUSBdriveiscreatedsuccessfully.
UsingtherecoveryUSBdrive
Ifyoucannotstartyourtablet,orifyoucannotstarttheWindowsrecoveryimageonyourtablet,usethe
recoveryUSBdrivetorecoveryourtablet.
