is,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwiseproceedwiththefollowingsteps.
7.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethepassword
orprovideconrmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
10.ClickUpdateDriver.
11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice
driversonmycomputer.
12.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.
13.Selectthecorrectmanufacturerandmodelfortheexternalmonitor.Ifyoucannotndyourmonitoron
thelist,stoptheinstallationofthisdriverandusethedrivershippedwithyourmonitor.
14.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.
Changingthecolorsettings
Tochangethecolorsettings,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClickAdvancedSettings,andthenselecttheColorManagementtab.
3.ClickColorManagement,andthenselecttheAdvancedtab.
4.Changethecolorsettingsasyoudesired,andthenclickClose.
Considerationsforconnectinganexternalmonitor
•Wheninstallinganoperatingsystem,youmustinstallthedisplaydriverforyourmonitorthatisprovided
withthecomputer,andthemonitorINFlethatisprovidedwiththeexternalmonitor.
•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthecomputermonitor,andusean
externalmonitorthatdoesnotsupportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,
whichenablesyoutodisplayonlyapartofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.
YoucanseeotherpartsoftheimagebymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointpointingdeviceoranother
pointingdevice.
•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemightbelimited.
Usingaprojector
Tomakepresentations,youcanconnectaprojectortoyourcomputerthroughtheVGAconnectoronyour
computer.
Note:Itmighttakeseveralsecondsbeforetheprojectordisplaystheimage.Ifyoudonotseeyourdesktop
displayedafter60seconds,pressF7toswitchamongdifferentdisplayoutputlocations.
Yourprojectormighthaveoneormoreaudio-inputconnectors.Toprojectsound,youneedtoattach
thecomboaudioconnectoronyourcomputertotheseconnectors,usinganaudiocable(commercially
available).
Usingdualdisplay
ThissectionintroducestheDuplicateandExtenddesktopfunctionsthatenableyoutodisplayoutputon
boththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.
