Solution:Dischargeandrechargethebatterypack.Ifyourbatteryoperatingtimeisstillshort,usea
newbatterypack.
•Problem:Thecomputerdoesnotoperatewithafullychargedbatterypack.
Solution:Thesurgeprotectorinthebatterypackmightbeactive.Turnoffthecomputerforoneminuteto
resettheprotector;thenturnonthecomputeragain.
Anacpoweradapterproblem
Problem:Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandtheworkingelectricaloutlet,butthe
poweradapter(powerplug)iconisnotdisplayedintheWindowsnoticationarea.Alsotheacpower
indicatordoesnotlightup.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Ensurethattheconnectionoftheacpoweradapteriscorrect.Forinstructionsonconnectingtheac
poweradapter,seeSafety,Warranty,andSetupGuidethatcomeswithyourcomputer.
2.Reconnecttheacpoweradapter,thenturnonthecomputer.
3.IfthepoweradaptericonstillisnotdisplayedintheWindowsnoticationareaandtheacpower
indicatordoesnotlightup,havetheacpoweradapterandyourcomputerserviced.

area.
Powerproblems
Printtheseinstructionsnowandkeepitwithyourcomputerforreferencelater.
Ifyourcomputerisgettingnopoweratall,checkthefollowingitems:
1.Verifythepowerbutton.Referto“Systemstatusindicators”onpage6.Thepowerbuttonislit
wheneverthecomputerison.
2.Checkallpowerconnections.Removeanypowerstripsandsurgeprotectorstoconnecttheacpower
adapterdirectlytotheacpoweroutlet.
3.Inspecttheacpoweradapter.Checkforanyphysicaldamage,andensurethatthepowercableisrmly
attachedtotheadapterbrickandthecomputer.
4.Verifytheacpowersourceisworkingbyattachinganotherdevicetotheoutlet.
5.Removealldevicesandthentestforsystempowerwithminimaldevicesattached.
a.Disconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.
b.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
c.RemovetheMiniPCIExpressCard.Referto“ReplacingaMiniPCIExpressCardforwirelessLAN
connection”onpage59and“InstallingorreplacingthewirelessWANcard”onpage62.
d.Removetheharddiskdrive.Referto“Replacingtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive”onpage53.
e.Waitfor30seconds,andthenreinstallthememorymoduleandtheknowngoodbatteryortheac
poweradaptertotestthecomputerwithminimaldevicesattachedrst.
f.Reinstalleachdeviceoneatatimethatyouhaveremovedintheearliersteps.
Ifyourcomputerdoesnotrunonbatterypower,checkthefollowingitems:
