4.1 Changing the password
This chapter describes the steps for changing the password using the command line as well as the GUI.
Before you begin
To successfully complete these steps you must have previously completed the initial configuration steps
to set up an IP address for the device. For more information, see the Initial access configuraiton using
the console chapter.
Procedure
• After connecting to the device using a serial connection or an SSH connection, you can enter a new
password using the passwd command in the console.
• You can change the password using the GUI in the System > Administration menu.

Results
After successfully completing one of the above mentioned steps your new password is configured for
accessing the device.
