3.4 DVR Option

Important note for the use of external hard disks and USB Sticks
Your ProTUNE HD has a USB 2.0 Interface which can be used to connect external storage media,
such as external hard disks or USB Sticks, for data transfer. A standardized current of 500 mA is being
emitted over this interface. Please note when connecting a external hard disk, that only units with a
separate power supply should be connected. If hard disks without separate power supply are being
connected, the ProTUNE HD is not able to deliver a possibly high starting current for the hard disk over
USB.
If you want to transmit/record data (film, pictures, music, etc.) with a USB Stick, please note that the USB
Stuck should have a reading and writing transfer rate. These values should be at least between 15 and 20
MB/s. With such values, television recordings are possible without any disturbance.
For storage capacity, please note the specifications given by the respective manufacturers. Bei der

standards:
On a USB Stick with a storage capacity of 2GB, approx. 35 hours of music or approx. 500 Songs / or 2400
pictures with 3 Megapixel / or 1 hour of movie in MPEG-2 format / and 1,5 hours of movies in MPEG-4
format can be stored.
Please note that these standards depend on the size of the data that will be stored. Broadcasted TV
programs can vary in their data size significantly. This depends on the broadcasting quality of each
TV channel.
