Customizing Your SoundPoint
®
IP 650 Desktop Phone

— Using the dial pad, enter the first few characters of the contacts’s last
name.
The characters that you enter appear on the second line of the graphic
display.
The entries whose last name begin with the characters that you
entered (or are alphabetically next to the characters that you entered)
appear on the graphic display.
Managing Incoming Calls
You can distinguish incoming calls by setting distinctive rings for contacts in
your contact directory, sending particular calls directly to your voice mail, or
transferring particular calls to another party.
Distinguishing Calls
You can customize your phone so that you can distinguish different parties by
ring type.
To set a distinctive ring type for a contact:
1. Press .
2. Select Contact Directory.
3. Use and to highlight the contact.
You can also use the * key to page up and the # key to page down.

This feature is local to the phone, and may be overridden by your organization’s
settings. For more information, contact your system administrator.
