Software Initialization (Hands on)
Objectives
• Use the instructor-provided software to initialize a Comdial system.
• Initialize the Comdial system by loading CCB software into its flash memory.
Background
• Prior to initialization, a CPU board for any Comdial FX system can only run DEMO software
for 1 hour. This DEMO mode time is used for the software upgrade and initialization of the
switch.
• If a system is not initialized within the hour, it will reset. Do the following steps to initialize
or upgrade the class systems with new port sizes and features.
Class Exercise
• Using the information provided in this section, perform a software initialization or upgrade of
your switch (as the instructor determines).
• It is not necessary to call Comdial for system software numbers to complete this exercise.
The instructor will provide system software numbers for this exercise.
NOTE: Remember that DIPSWITCH 8 on the Services Board has to be ON to complete the
initialization or upgrade.
