Special-Purpose Boards and Special Components Overview
This topic provides information on special-purpose boards supported by the FX family, as well as
the various system components and cards that can be used to upgrade or expand FX systems.
DTMF Receiver Board

• When a site has a large population of ISTs, the system may require additional dual-tone
multiple frequency (DTMF) receivers.
• Typically, a standard medium-size communication system will need one DTMF receiver for
every six lines.
• As an alternative to adding 4 DTMF receiver option cards, Impact FX systems with CCB
software release 180, Feature Set 16A, now support the use of universal DTMF receiver
boards.
• You can install the FXDTMF board in any universal slot, as well as the slot designated for
the AUX board. The table below lists the maximum number of DTMF receivers allowed in
the Impact FX systems.
