Testing the Setup 
Task Expected Results 
1.  Restore the database to the switch (optional).   
2.  Plug a 25 pair cable from the IST board to the 
Loop Start Line board. 
This will allow you to test the Line Group 1 access 
from 1002 and 1003. 
3.  Press a group intercom button on Ext. 1002.  You will get intercom dial tone and see the button 
light up green. You will see it light up red at Ext 
1003. Hang up. 
4.  Press a group intercom button on Ext. 1003.  You will get intercom dial tone and see the button 
light up green. You will see it light up red at Ext 
1002. Hang up. 
5.  Busy out Ext. 1002’s intercom key. From Ext. 
1001 call Ext. 1002. 
The call will come in on the first group intercom key 
(4101) if your Intercom Hunt List is programmed 
correctly. The call should also ring. 
6. Press the LNG1 button on 1002 and 1003 
You will access a line in Line Group 1. This allows 
you to make out-going calls. 
Exercise Review 
•  The Hybrid mode is a PBX-like arrangement. 
•  Hybrid mode is used most often when there are more system lines than buttons on the 
telephones 
•  In Hybrid mode you can add Park keys and Page to enhance call handling. 
•  You may set Hybrid mode when master clearing the database. You may also reprogram your 
database to this arrangement 
•  Hybrid mode: 
*  Has no direct line appearances 
*  Uses group intercoms as “ call keys” to handle calls
