Step 3: Specifying the Call Advance Time
The Call Advance Time is a programmable feature that the technician uses to determine the time
interval that a station within a hunt group rings unanswered before the system routes the call to
the next station in the group.
By default, hunt Group members who are currently on calls are considered busy and not in the
hunt group, so a hunt group member can be skipped in this case. It is also possible to set the Call
Advance Time too low, and not provide a chance for station hunting to occur throughout the
entire hunt group member list.
Step 4: Specifying the Overflow Time and Extension
The Overflow time, Queue Ringing Calls, and Overflow extension are all directly related in
Station Hunting. If all the hunt group members are busy on calls, or unable to answer a call, the
Overflow time can perform two distinct operations:
• If the Queue ringing calls feature is enabled, the overflow time determines how long an
unanswered hunt group call remains in queue before the system routes the call to an overflow
destination. The call remains in queue until a hunt group member station becomes idle and
available. If no member is available within the assigned time, the call is routed to the
Overflow extension.
• If the Queue ringing calls feature is disabled, the overflow time determines how long a call
will ring at hunt group stations before the system routes the call to an overflow destination. If
