• Check diagnostics on the telephone system.
This exercise presents information you can use to determine the status of memory in the system.
It also allows you to identify the board revision level status.
Exercise Setup
Task Comments
1. Direct connect to the system using the 9-pin adaptor
and line cord provided.
Connect the cable to Switch COM Port
Open HyperTerminal on your PC:
Click on Start / Programs / Accessories /
HyperTerminal.
2. Press Enter. A Login prompt appears.
3. Type in I*746* and press Enter.
You are logging directly into the telephone system and
connecting to a built in MMI (Man-Machine Interface.)
Your PC is acting as a terminal to display the MMI
provided menus. In the latest revisions of software there
are primarily diagnostic items (FX Series) available.
4. Start with the first item: Type 1 at the Enter your
selection prompt. This will select the Board Status
view.
Board Status identifies the busy / idle status for each
circuit on the board. Additionally you see the revision of
the board. Note the revision so you have additional
information if talking to Technical Service about a
problem on that specific board.
