Integrated Synchronized Unified Messaging
Interchange integrated unified messaging features allow subscribers to use their Microsoft
Outlook e-mail Inbox to manage their voice mail messages and voice mail messages with fax
attachments along side of their e-mail messages.
Subscribers can:
• Compose, play, forward, reply to, and delete voice mail messages from the Inbox.
• Send voice mail messages via e-mail to non-subscribers (messages are received as .WAV file
attachments to an e-mail message.
• Use standard Outlook Inbox features to manage voice mail and voice with fax mail messages.
• View fax attachments to voice mail messages on-screen.
With this configuration, voice and fax mail messages are stored on the Key Voice PC, not on the
e-mail server. A client PC application copies voice/fax mail messages for a particular mailbox
owner from the Key Voice PC to the owner’s Microsoft Outlook Inbox. This way, mailbox
owners can access voice/fax mail messages either through the Inbox interface or by logging into
their voice mailbox over the telephone. The client PC application maintains full synchronization
between the Key Voice PC and the Inbox, so message status is automatically updated on both
systems when it is changed by the subscriber through either interface.
Single-Message Store Unified Messaging with Interchange
The Interchange single message store configuration allows subscribers to use any IMAP4
compliant desktop Inbox application to manage their voice mail messages and voice mail
messages with fax attachments along side of their e-mail messages.
Subscribers can:
• Play, forward, reply to, and delete voice mail messages from the Inbox.
• Send voice mail messages via e-mail to non-subscribers (messages are received as .WAV file
attachments to an e-mail message.
• Use standard Inbox features to manage voice mail and voice with fax mail messages.
• View fax attachments to voice mail messages on-screen.
With this configuration, voice and fax mail messages received for a mailbox owner are sent from
the Key Voice PC to the e-mail server, where they are stored. Subscribers access these messages
from any Inbox application the same way they access their e-mail messages. Subscribers can
also still access voice/fax mail messages over the telephone by logging in through their Key
Voice voice mailbox, even though these messages are stored on the e-mail server.
