13d. Rear-facing Tether Attachment Strap Installation
• Only use Tether Attachment Strap for rear-facing tether
installation.
• Always use rear-facing tether whenever possible.
WARNING - DEATHor SERIOUS INJURY can occur
Use the Tether Attachment Strap to create a tether anchor
point for use with the car seat rear-facing. The Tether
Attachment Strap must be installed at the base of the
vehicle seat in front of the rear-facing car seat. In vehicles
where available locations for tether anchor point are too
large to wrap the Tether Attachment Strap around, the
rear-facing tether cannot be used. Store tether in storage
pouch on back of car seat.
Tether Attachment Strap Installation:
1. Locate the Tether Attachment Strap stored in the pouch
on the back of the car seat.
2. Move vehicle seat forward if necessary to expose to
the vehicle seat track and other vehicle mounting
hardware (closest to the center of the vehicle). Select a
fixed location on the inboard vehicle seat track or other
mounting structure that is bolted to the floor of the vehicle
and that the Tether Attachment Strap can be wrapped
around and secured to. If a location is not easily identified,
contact the vehicle manufacturer for a suggested location
to secure the Tether Attachment Strap.
