3. Installing and Removing CO

Capsules

The Defender air pistol is powered by one 12 gram CO

capsule. We

recommend the use of Walther CO

capsules for a proper seal.

3A. Installing a New CO

Capsule

•Puttheairpistol“ONSAFE”(seeStep2.OperatingtheSafety).

•Checktomakesurethebuilt-inmagazineisempty.

•Makesureaprojectileisnotloaded(seeStep4.UnloadingProjectiles).

•IfitcontainsCO

(seeStep3B.RemovingCO

Capsules).

•PressthegripreleasebuttonexposingtheCO

housing

 (illustration3a).

•Beforeinstallinga12gCO

capsule,placeonedropofRWSChamber

 lubeonthetopofthesmallendofthe12gCO

capsule.

•Insertthe12gCO

capsule,withthesmallneckofthecapsulepointing

 upwardintothegrip,andturnthepiercingknobclockwiseuntilitpierces

 theCO

capsule.(illustration3b)

•Pushthepistolgripforwardtoclose(illustration3c).

•Makesurethecapsulehasbeenpunctured.Withtheairpistolunloaded,

 pointedinaSAFEDIRECTION,take“OFFSAFE”(seeStep2B)and

 pullthetriggertore.Ifitdoesnotre,tightenthepiercingknobsome

 moreandrepeatthisstep.

2. Operating the Safety

2B. To Take the Defender “OFF SAFE”

 •Locatethesafetyontherightsideoftheairgunabove

  thetrigger.

 •Pushthesafetyinandrearward(toward“F”)(illustration 2b).

2A. To Put the Defender “ON SAFE”

 •Locatethesafetyontherightsideoftheairgunabove

  thetrigger.

 •Pushthesafetyforward(toward“S”)(illustration 2a).

WHEN THE SAFETY IS “ON SAFE”, YOU SHOULD CONTINUE TO HANDLE THE AIR PISTOL SAFELY.

NEVER POINT THE AIR PISTOL AT ANYTHING YOU DO NOT INTEND TO SHOOT.

WARNING:

USE ONLY 12G CO2 CAPSULES. ANY ATTEMPT TO USE OTHER TYPES OF

GAS CAPSULES COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY

OR DEATH. GASES OTHER THAN CO2 COULD RESULT IN AN EXPLOSION OR RUPTURE OF THE AIR

PISTOL.

CAUTION: NEVER LOAD THE MAGAZINE UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED THE AIR PISTOL WILL

DISCHARGE CO2 PROPERLY.

NOTE: A SLIGHT SEEPAGE OF CO2 GAS MAY OCCUR UNTIL PUNCTURE

SCREW IS TIGHT.

IF YOU KNOW YOU WILL NOT BE USING YOUR AIR PISTOL FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, SAFELY EMPTY THE CO2 CAPSULE AND REMOVE IT FROM THE AIR PISTOL. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER, AS IT WILL PROLONG THE LONGEVITY OF YOUR AIR PISTOL SEALS. WARNING: KEEP HANDS AND FACE AWAY FROM ESCAPING CO2 GAS. -83. During rapid fire, the muzzle velocity of each shot will diminish. This can affect shooting accuracy and you will get fewer shots per CO2 capsule. 4. Care should be exercised to ensure that the airgun is not shot with a CO2 capsule that is low in pressure. Here are some indicators of insufficient pressure: A) The sound of the shot is not as loud as when the capsule is full.
