4. Clean the fi lter compartment, the permanent fi lter and the glas pot with hot water and
a little detergent if necessary. Do not clean the parts in the dishwasher!
5. Then dry the fi lter compartment, the permanent fi lter and the glas pot thoroughly.
6. Place the fi lter compartment and the permanent fi lter back into the coffee machine
when they are completely dry.
7. If necessary, wipe the coffee machine and hotplate with a damp cloth and then dry
them with a dry cloth.
Descaling
If the water only runs very slowly through the appliance or the appliance is louder than
usual during the brewing process, you should descale the appliance. Use a standard
commercial descaling agent for coffee machines to descale the appliance.
1. Pour a mixture of water and descaling agent into the water reservoir and switch on
the appliance. Pay attention to the directions for use of the descaling agent in regard
to the ratio of water to descaling agent.
2. Let the mixture run through the machine completely. Repeat this procedure if the
water still runs through slowly.
3. After descaling, let water (without coffee) run through the appliance at least three
times to fl ush the lines, etc.
Troubleshooting
If the appliance should stop working properly, fi rst check whether you are able to correct
the problem yourself. Do not try to repair a faulty appliance yourself!
Problem Possible cause/solution
The appliance does
not work.
• Is the On/Off button in the 1 position?
• Is the plug inserted in the mains socket correctly?
• Is the mains socket defective? Try another mains socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• Is the fi lter compartment correctly inserted?
• Is the permanent fi lter or the paper fi lter correctly inserted?
• Is the fi lter fi lled with coffee powder?
• Is there suffi cient water in the water reservoir?
