Troubleshooting
If the device should stop working properly, rst check whether you are able to correct the
problem yourself. If you are not, contact the customer service department (see the "Customer
Service" chapter).
Do not try to repair a faulty device yourself!
Problem Possible cause/solution
The device does not work.
• Is the plug inserted in the mains socket correctly?
• Is the mains socket defective?
Try another mains socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
The coffee pot overows or
water runs past the coffee
pot.
• Is the coffee pot sitting correctly on the hotplate?
Check whether the coffee pot is positioned correctly
beneath the discharge opening.
• The water reservoir has been lled with water higher than
the MAX marking. Do not overll the water reservoir.
Water is escaping from the
device.
• Is the water drip tray of the espresso machine full?
Empty the container.
The steam from the milk
frother nozzle does not
froth up the milk.
• Is the MODE switch in the "WASSERDAMPF" (STEAM)
position?
• Is the second control lamp lit up?
• Is the device switched on?
Move the VORHEIZEN AN/AUS (PREHEAT ON/OFF)
switch to the "AN" (ON) position.
• Have you used the right kind of milk?
We recommend that you use unskimmed milk.
• Is the milk of the right temperature?
We recommend that you use cold milk from the fridge.
