Danger of Injury
❐ Please keep the device and packaging material out of the reach of children and pets. There
is a danger of injury and suffocation!
❐ This device should not be used by people (including children) with impaired sensory or
mental faculties or who do not have adequate experience and/or knowledge of such de-
vices, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have received
instructions from such a person on how to use the device. Children must be supervised in
order to ensure that they do not play with the device.
❐ The device should not be used if it is damaged.
❐ Danger of scalding from hot steam! Hot steam is produced when the device is in use.
Never open the water reservoir and lter compartment cover.
❐ Keep your face, head and hands away from the water reservoir and lter compartment
cover during use. Hot steam will escape from the slots in the cover. You may scald yourself
on the hot steam.
❐ Danger of injury from hot device parts and accessories! Parts of the device (e. g. hotplates,
steam nozzle) and the glass pots will become hot during use. Avoid contact with hot parts
of the device and only pick up the glass pots by the handle.
Health-Specic Safety Instructions
❐ Damage to health as a result of contamination! Clean the device and accessories before
they are used for the rst time. Parts of the device may have production residues on them.
It is essential that you follow the cleaning instructions provided in the "Before Initial Use"
chapter, "Cleaning the Device" section, and the "Cleaning" chapter.
Set-up and Connection
❐ The device should only be used in closed, dry rooms. Moisture and dirt may damage the
device.
❐ Do not set up the device in rooms which contain highly ammable liquids, gases or highly
ammable dust.
❐ Always place the device on a dry, level, rm and heat-resistant surface.
❐ Maintain a sufcient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not to
damage the device.
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed and earthed socket with earth-
ing contacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains volt-
age must be the same as that stated in the technical data of the device. Only use suitable
extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable or exten-
sion cable. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters.
Others may become caught and pull the device down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
