PROGRAMMING
Programming of system, camera, and VCR setup; camera sequencing; and alarm and
activity detection are done through on-screen menus displayed on the main monitor. You
can enable a password to prevent unauthorized access to the menus.
You can directly program the picture-in-picture, and 4-, 9-, and 16-camera displays without
going through menus.
There are two ways to program the multiplexer:
• From the multiplexer front panel. This section provides detailed information.
• From the KBD4000/KBD4002 keyboard. Follow the instructions in your keyboard
manual, or refer to the
Specific Applications Programming
section in this manual.
Figure 18 shows which buttons access which menus.
MULTIPLEXER PROGRAMMING TIP:
Enter a menu by holding the appropriate button for
three seconds. Exit the menu by holding the same button for three seconds. Use the arrow
buttons to move between and highlight menu items; and the +/- button
to select menu
items, cycle through multiple options, or exit programming mode.
IMPORTANT:
If you need
to change the language, do
so before programming
because changing the
language involves resetting
the multiplexer to factory
defaults. Refer to the
Changing The Language
section.
NOTE:
Whenever a multi-
plexer server is installed,
you
must
enter program-
ming mode from the
multiplexer’s front panel.
After doing so, you can
program the multiplexer
through its front panel or
you can navigate and make
programming selections
through the keyboard.
