Figure 16. Connecting Duplex Mulitplexer to a CM6700 SCU and Single Keyboard
NOTE:
To daisy-chain
multiplexers, use the 6-foot
(1.8 m) data cables supplied
with each multiplexer. Con-
nect a cable from the first
multiplexer’s COM OUT port
to the second multiplexer’s
COM IN port. Connect from
COM OUT to COM IN until
you have daisy-chained
eight units, if desired.
This installation is more effective than using the MX4000SVR server. Using the CM6800
provides the following:
Support of up to eight monitors instead of four
Support of M devices, such as the KBD960 keyboard
Maximum of 18 keyboards instead of four
Support of additional cameras that are not going through the Genex
Also, the CM6800 macros include multiplexer control allowing you to build sequences that
include a combination of multi-camera and/or single camera displays.
The installation in Figure 15 is for up to eight monitors and eight multiplexers connected to
a CM6800-48X8.
1. Connect up to eight monitors to the video outputs on the CM6800.
2. Daisy-chain up to eight multiplexers and connect them to any of the 48 inputs on the
CM6800.
3. Connect up to 18 keyboards to COM ports 3, 5-8 on the CM6800.
