16.9.2 Load handling with limiting device "HO"
(!) ATTENTION (!)
During load handling with the crane and with the crane and hydraulic jib,
in vertical configuration or close, the operator must strictly refer to the
loads indicated on the capacity plates since the limiting device shows to
be not particularly sensitive with vertical lifts.
Crane with activated limiting device by the intervention of the
crane (overload condition) fig. 25
Manoeuvres not allowed:
- Inner boom descent
- Outer boom descent
- Extension of the crane extension boom sections
Crane in overload condition with extension boom sections fully re-en-
tered and activation of the lifting moment limiting exclusion system
When operating the crane, the moment limiting device may intervene even if the
crane is working with the extension boom sections fully re-entered. This is likely
to happen when you lift big loads in extension (with induced pressure level next
to the activation values of the moment limiting device): when lowering down the
load, due to the dynamic increase caused by the descent, the moment limiting
device intervenes and it is impossible to put down the load.
In this condition the crane is blocked and there is no way to command the ma-
noeuvres apt to reduce the overload.
In order to activate the exclusion of the moment limiting device, operate the le-
ver commanding the re-entry of the extension boom sections for some seconds,
release it and then operate the lever commanding the descent of the outer ram
that, at that point, will result actionable.
16.9.3 Adjustable electro-hydraulic arc rotation limiting
device (Limiting device "HO")
When a sector of the working area exists in which the stability is insufficient
(for example in the area in front of the cab) the permitted arc of rotation is limi-
ted by means of an adjustable electro-hydraulic device which only allows ope-
ration within the safe area. (Warning: persist in the operation!)
When exceeding the “safe area” the rotation limiting device only allowing:
- the opposite rotation
- the manoeuvres allowed by the limiting device
(!) ATTENTION (!)
Always check carefully that the vehicle is perfectly stable, paying special atten-
tion to the area immediately in front of the driver’s cabin as this is usually less
stable.
