16.9 Lifting moment limiting device hydraulic "HO"
This device utilises a hydraulic system that prevents any operation tending to
cause an increase in the pressure induced by the load in the lifting rams up to
the critical values, which are not exceedable.
The pressure values detected in the lifting rams by the hydraulic limiting device
determine the locking of the controls concerned.
When the intervention value of the limiting device is reached, the device deacti-
vates the distributor levers except for the rotation and the re-entry of the exten-
sion boom sections. To get out of the locking condition and then reactivate all
the crane functions, it is necessary to activate the control lever of the re-entry of
the extension rams.
16.9.1 Stop button and safety gauge
This device is activated (pressing the button down) when you need to interrupt
the feeding of the oil under pressure to the distributor and therefore you neces-
sitate to suspend the functionality of its components (i.e. in case of block of
one of the distributor levers when in control position).
After operating, the button, remains in the down position, keeping the crane
not working; to restore the functions you must pull back the button, to its origi-
nal position.
Safety gauge
The control stations are equipped with a gauge for the visualization of the
approximate percentage of the nominal load.
The dial is divided into three sectors:
- green zone, up to 90% of the nominal load;
- yellow zone, between 90 and 100% of the nominal load;
- red zone, approx. 100% of the nominal load.
