MOUNTING THE
SHOCK SENSOR:
1.
Select a suitable mounting location in the passenger's compartment for the glass breakage microphone.
Typically
mounted
towards the center
of
the
vehicle
in an open area but not in
plain
sight. Route the three conductor cable from theglass
breakage microphone and
plug
into the connector on the
CAGBS module.
2.
Mount the
CAGBS
module using the cable tie provided, making certain to
allow access to the sensitivity
level
potentiometer
for adjustments required later in this
manual.
3.
Plug
the four pin connector into the
CAGBS module.
4. Route the four conductor harness from the
CAGBS
to the alarm control module.
5.
Plug
the four pin connector into the mating sensor port
on
the alarm control module.
ADJUSTING
THE
GLASS
BREAKAGE
SENSOR:
Using a
small
screwdriver, gently turn the adjustment screw
fully
counter clockwise,
(DO NOT
over turn this screw. Maximum
rotation for this adjustment is 270 degrees), then
up
one notchas indicated on the front of the sensor case.
Close
the hood,
door and trunk lid,
and
arm
the alarm. Wait 6 seconds for the accessories trigger zone to stabilize, then test by tapping the
vehicle's glass with car keys.
CAUTION:
Be
careful
when
tapping
the
vehicle's glass
to
prevent damage.
Turn the adjustment screw clockwise (increasing sensitivity) about 1 notch and re-test. Repeat this procedure until the alarm
sounds. Ultimately, multiple high pitched tapping sounds
will
cause the alarm to sound. anything
less will
cause the pre-detect
output to activate.
WARNING!
Setting
the sensitivity too high can cause false alarms due to noise vibrations from passing trucks and heavy
equipment.
To
decrease sensitivity, turn the adjustment screw counter clockwise.
