LCD Display: ALARM UP OCCLUSION
Alarm: Negative pressure detected between the pump and IV reservoir
Cause: Pump has detected excessive negative pressure in the administration set
between the medication reservoir or IV bag (“up stream”) and the pump.
Resolution: Pause the pump. Check administration set from IV bag to pump for
potential causes of occlusion. Open the door of the pump and remove the
administration set from the pumping chamber. If an area of the tubing is
flattened, massage that area to a more rounded shape. If a clamp is in
place, open it; if tubing is kinked, straighten it. Replace administration set
back in the pump. When ready to begin infusing, select RESUME. If the
alarm continues, use a new administration set or if the IV bag is almost
empty, replace it.
LCD Display: CMS NOT ENABLED
Alarm: Pump is not CMS capable
Cause: A CMS system had attempted to communicate with this pump which was
not CMS capable
Resolution: This pump is not capable of CMS communication and should not be used
for any CMS function.
LCD Display: COMM TIMEOUT
Alarm: Communication Timeout occurred during Pump/CMS communication
Cause: The communication link between the pump and the P.C. running CMS
was broken (i.e., the cable between them was unplugged) during a CMS
upload to the pump
Resolution: Check the cable connection between the pump and the PDA or P.C .
LCD Display: INFUSION COMPLETE
Alarm: Infusion Complete
Cause: Programmed “Amount to be Infused” is depleted to 0.
Resolution: If the therapy is to be repeated, press “PAUSE”, add another IV bag or
reservoir and select the “REPEAT Rx” function.
If the therapy will not be repeated, press “PAUSE” key and turn the pump
off by pressing the “OFF” key.
LCD Display: UPLOAD CHAR ERR
Alarm: While uploading a prescription to the pump a character was misinterpreted
Cause: Faulty communications link between the pump and the P.C. running CMS
Resolution: Replace the communication cable between the pump and the PDA or PC.
If other programs are running on the PC that might with the operation of
CMS/PC, close those programs.
