1 To complete the call, use the information in the following
table.
If you are
making an...
Do this...
Emergency call • wait until a message informs you that the call has been
successful
• hold down the PTT button then speak, releasing the PTT
button when you have finished speaking
• press the key to end the call and resume scanning
NOTE
You should test your transceiver’s emergency
call facility on a regular basis. In doing this, the
process of making an emergency call will
become familiar, so that in an emergency you
will have confidence that the call is effective.
Before testing the emergency call, you should
notify the recipients of the call that you are
going to perform a test emergency call.
