Installing the 3160
18 Power Amplifier 3160 Installation Handbook
Stacked layout
The stacked layout (see Figure 6 on page 12) provides a
mounting system that connects all items together in a rugged
stack.
For overall dimensions of the stack see Figure 14 on page 39.
Mobile station
The 3160 should be mounted in a location that:
• is clear of surrounding body work
• does not interfere with car openings
• provides adequate air flow around the unit
The 3160 must have:
• a strong anchorage point
• a sound electrical connection to the vehicle chassis
For specific instructions on mounting a vehicle cradle see the
fitting instruction provided with the cradle.
CAUTION
The stacked layout must be assembled in a
specific order, as some holes become hidden
during the assembly process. For more
information see page 22, Installing the 3160 in
a stacked layout.
NOTE
The power supply cover is not required if the
system is powered from a 12 V DC vehicle
battery.
