INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the PREAMPLIFIER CP. This preamplifier is a precision device, designed in an effort to provide the listener with unmatched sound quality through superb design and construction. Although its operation is fairly simple, in order to operate your preamplifier properly and to realize all of the capabilites of the CP we recommend that you read this entire manual carefully.
INITIAL SETUP 3 Note: Many amplifiers produce a local magnetic field that can be picked up by the sensitive circuitry of a preamplifier. Try to provide at least a foot of space between your amplifier and your CP preamp. USE ONL Y WITH 25V FUSE The diagram below illustrates the rear connections of the CP. A B C D A: The AC receptacle accepts any standard three-prong IEC line cord. Power input can be adjusted for any country, but is set internally at the factory.

LOADING SETUP 5 Caution: The CP contains dangerous high voltages during operation, and except for the loading settings has no user servicable parts inside. Except when adjusting the loading you should never open the preamplifier. Before opening the CP ensure that the AC line cord is completely disconnected. The CPs phono input stage has adjustable loading parameters. The loading switches are a red DIP switch block located on the printed circuit board inside the preamplifier near the balanced input jacks.

CARE AND HANDLING 7 The interior of the amplifier requires no special care. If exterior cleaning beyond simple dusting is required, any dilute ammonia-based product is recommended. Do not use any abrasive rags, cleaners or chemical solvents on the amplifier. When handling the amplifier, take care not to mar the faceplate. Aluminum is a medium hardness metal and can be scratched by harder tool steels, and the grained surface can be easily marred if the amplifier is set face-down on a hard surface.
