POWERING YOUR PLAYER Charging the Battery Your player has an integrated rechargeable battery that will provide up to 5 hours of music play time. The battery should be charged fully (minimum 4 hours) before its initial use to ensure optimum lifetime performance. MAIN MENU OVERVIEW The Main Menu gives you access to the different14 function modes of your player. When your player is powered on, it will enter the Main Menu directly. To return to the Main Menu at any time, press and hold the MENU button. To select a mode, press or to highlight the mode and then press . The main menu consists of items: MUSIC, MOVIE, RECORD, VOICE, FM RADIO, PHOTOS, EBOOK and SETTTINGS. For a detailed description of each item, see their respective sections of this manual.
MUSIC MODE Enter MUSIC mode to play your MP3, WMA or WAV audio files. Music Controls • To play an audio track, press • Press track. . RECORD MODE Enter RECORD mode to make voice recordings through the integrated Microphone. Upon entering RECORD mode: 1. Press the MENU button to access the Menu Setting menu. • Local folder: Select the folder that the recording file will be saved in. • 2. REC type: Set the recording quality with 32kbps, 64kbps or 128kbps. Press to start Voice Recording. During recording: • To pause recording, press • ; press again to resume recording. FM RADIO MODE Enter FM Radio Mode to listen the FM Radio 22 broadcasts. You must have a pair of headphones connected to the headphone jack to receive FM broadcasts; your player will utilize the headphone cord as an antenna. Basic FM Radio Operation Upon entering FM Radio mode, you can tune into stations manually(Normal) or by using preset stations(Preset). • Press to enter Preset tuning modes. FM RADIO MODE Normal Band This section allows you set the FM frequency range area as Normal band(US). • Highlight and confirm Normal Band from the Smart Menu. Japan Band This section allows you set the FM frequency range area as Japan Band. • Highlight and confirm Finder Presets.. from the Smart Menu. SETTINGS MODE Enter the SETTINGS mode to set your player’s system options. Upon entering Setting mode, you will have the following options: System Time, REC type, LCD set, Language, Power off, Replay mode, Online Device, Online Mode, Memory info, Firmware version, Firmware upgrade, Disk Format and Exit. Press or to select a setting and press the previous menu. to confirm. Press the MENU button to back to System time Set the internal clock of your player. 1.
SETTING MODE 28 Power off Set the Off time and Sleep time. • Off time Set the duration of time that your player will remain on for when it is idle. The options are: 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and Always on. • • Press or to select a Off time option. • Press when you are finished to save. • Press the MENU button to return the Power off setting menu without saving. Sleep time Set the duration of time(in minutes) that your player will shut off after the preset time is due.
SETTING MODE Format Format the player with FAT16 or FAT32 type. It may become necessary to format your player if data or files become corrupt. Andways use the Format function of the player when it is necessary to format the disk. USB Driver Installation (Required for Windows 98 SE Only) It is not necessary to install the USB driver if your computer is running Microsoft Windows ME/2000/ XP or newer, or Macintosh OS X. FIRMWARE UPGRADE IMPORTANT: Make sure your palyer has been fully charged before upgrading your firmware. Do not disconnect your player from the computer or otherwise interrupt the upgrade process - doing so could damage your player and render it inoperable. Firmware updates may be found on the COBY Electronics website at www.cobyusa.com. Check this site periodically for new updates. Firmware updates may add new functionality to your player.
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER Windows Media Player 9 (WMP9) 36 You can use Windows Media Player 9 (WMP9) and a USB-MSC connection to manage your music media library with Microsoft Windows 98SE/ME/2000. Music File Transfers To transfer files using WMP9: 1. Run Window Media Player 9 2. Connect your player to the computer 3. Select “Copy to CD or Device”. 4. Drag the desired songs, photos, or converted video files from the PC to the left pane. 5. Select “Removable Disk”. 6. Click “Copy”.
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER Windows Media Player 10 (WMP10) You can use Windows Media Player 10 (WMP10) and a USB-MTP connection to manage your music media library with Microsoft Windows XP or newer. Music File Transfers To transfer files using WMP10: 1. Run Window Media Player 10 2. Connect your player to the computer. A “Device Setup” window will appear. 3. In the ‘Device Setup” window, choose “Synchronize this device with this library for this session only” and click “Finish”. 4. Select “Sync”.
