Cluster deployment in an ISP
Installation notes
Congure one CacheRaQ 4 as the Cluster Master (see Cache Cluster
settings on page 34).
Congure the Cluster Master to operate in Transparent Caching mode using
one network interface.
The Cluster Slaves require no special conguration.
Enter the IP address of the router as the gateway for the Cluster Master.
Congure the access concentrators (DIAL UP) to use the Cluster Master
as their gateway.
Advantages
The clustered CacheRaQ 4s provide high-availability and high-speed cache
access as well as larger cache storage.
This solution is scalableyou can add up to ve Cluster Slaves.
Disadvantage
You cannot have more than ve Cluster Slaves. If you want more capacity,
you can use an L4 switch solution (see Cluster deployment with an
L4 switch in an ISP on page 72).
