Sample Network Topologies

This appendix shows how the Cobalt CacheRaQ 4 can be used in a variety of

ways in different network environments. It illustrates the connections among the

network components and gives conﬁguration details for each setup.

Traditional Proxy Caching mode

Installation notes

• Conﬁgure the CacheRaQ 4 for Traditional Proxy Caching mode.

• Conﬁgure the clients’ browsers to use the CacheRaQ 4 as the HTTP proxy.

Instructions for Internet Explorer Version 5.0

1. From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.

2. Click the Connection tab.

3. Click the LAN Settings button at the bottom.

4. In the Proxy Server section, click the check box for “Use a proxy server”.

5. In the Address ﬁeld, enter the URL http://<cacheraq-name>/proxy.pac.
