Troubleshooting
VMS Analyze/Error Utility
The CBl-IOIO logs controller dependent information in ERRLOG.SYS file.
User can use the VMS ANAL YZEjERROR utility to open the file
ERRLOG.SYS
and display the error messages for troubleshooting. By includ-
ing option switches such as jSINCE=DATE
and jINCLUDE=MUBO, user
may define the time reference and device. To enter the ANAL YZEjERROR
utility, log onto the system and enter the following command:
analerrlsince={timellinclude={devicel
Some examples are shown by the following:
To view all errors
that VMS has logged, enter:
analerr
To view the errors only on tape devices, enter:
anal errlinc=tapes
To view the errors that have occurred only on one tape unit (MUBO), enter;
analerrlinc=mubo
analerrlinc=(ptb,mubo)
To view the MUBO errors that occurred on April 20, 1990 since 14:22 (02:22
PM), enter:
analerrl since=20-Apr-1989:14:22Iinc=mubo
