both
physical
ends
of the
SCSI
bus.
If the
CBI-IOIO
is
at
either
end
of the
SCSI
bus,
do
not
change the
configuration. The
CBI-IOIO
is factory configured
with
on-board
termination.
If the
CBI-IOIO
is
in
the
middle
of the
SCSI
bus, terminators must
be
removed
from the default setting as listed below:
For
single-ended
mode:
remove
RNI
and
RN2 from
daughter
card
(CBI-IOII). See Figure
3-6
on
page 3-8.
For
differential
mode:
remove U22
and
U23 from
daughter
card
(CBI-IOI2). See Figure 3-4
on
page 3-7.
In
the event that one system becomes inoperable
with
only two
nodes
in
the
VAX
cluster, a
quorum
disk
must
be
used
to count as a vote; this keeps the
other system running. Refer to VMS V AXcluster
manual
order
number
AA-LA27 A-TE to set
up
a
quorum
disk
and
a
VAX
cluster.
NOTE
When
running
cluster
_config.com
on
a system
with
only
Ethernet as a
computer
interconnect, answer Yes for the
question,
"WILL THIS
BE
A SATELLITE
NODE?"

new
devices
added.

other configuration is required if guidelines are followed from
Chapter
3, "System
Node
