4. FIRST AID MEASURES
First aid measures
General Advice
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Eye Contact
Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15 - 20 minutes. Remove contact
lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control
center or doctor for treatment advice.
Skin Contact
Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20
minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Inhalation
Move to fresh air. If breathing is affected, call a doctor.
Ingestion
Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a
glassful of water if able to swallow. DO NOT induce vomiting unless told to do so by a
poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Self-protection of the first aider
Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, take precautions to
protect themselves and prevent spread of contamination. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or
clothing. Use barrier to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Use personal protective
equipment as required. Wear personal protective clothing (see section 8).
