2.1 Network Bridge Applications
Therearethree main types ofapplicationsthat a networkbridgemayprovideina commercial
installation,
theyare:
1. ConnectivitybetweenCNICBusnetworks.
2. CBusnetworkextender.
3. CBusCommandFilter.
2.1.1ConnectivityBetweenCBusNetworks
Theprimaryfunctionofa NetworkBridge istoprovide connectivitybetweenCBus networks.
This means that a CBus command that is generated on one network will be routed across the
Network Bridge onto another CBus network. This is particularly useful when routing
commandsbetweentwonetworkswithCNI’s.
 AllC Buscommands generatedwillberoutedacross theNetworkBridge
(unless filters
are used). Only if both CBus networks share a common Group Address on the same
ApplicationAddress,willyouseetheeffectofaGroupAddressbeingroutedacrossthe
NetworkBridge.
