WARNING - INCORRECT FITTING OR POSITIONING OF THIS SAFETY BARRIER CAN BE DANGEROUS Fixing surfaces must be suitable for the purpose and structurally sound. This product requires the purchase of appropriate fixing aids suitable for the surface to which the wall cups are to be fitted. If this gate needs to be fitted to a round shaped newel post, ‘Y’ shaped spindles are available separately which replace the screw adjusters and wall cups supplied with this gate.
Installation 1 On the latch side of the gate, insert 1 screw adjuster ‘A’ with nut ‘B’ into the holes provided on the bottom of the gate. Screw the screw adjuster ‘L’ into the hole provided next to the handle. On the other side of the gate insert 2 casings ‘C’ followed by 2 screw adjusters ‘A’ with nuts ‘B’ into the holes provided. Be sure to insert both casings ‘C’ with the notch facing downwards.
3 Place the gate in the desired opening and push the latch downwards gently. The screw adjusters will extend and the latch should ‘click’ into place indicating that the gate is secure. If you feel a lot of resistance STOP and screw the screw adjusters further into the frame. Check the pressure indicators on the top and bottom corners of the frame. When the gate is under no pressure, the red plastic indicator should be completely visible.
E Using the Gate Before using the gate ensure that it is fitted correctly and is secure. Ensure the gate is in the open position by sliding the button (1) and then lifting the latch (2), this will retract the screw adjuster on the gate. To open the gate, lift it slightly. To close the gate, lift it slightly so that the bottom sits back on the frame and push the handle down firmly. Always check that the gate is closed and locked before leaving unattended.
Fitting a 7cm Extension G Remove the screw adjusters ‘A’, nuts ‘B’ and the casings ‘C’ from the hinge side of the gate (1). Turn the screw adjuster casings ‘C’ upside down and re-insert them into the frame (2). They should extend slightly from the frame. Attach the extension ‘F’ onto the casings (3). Fasten the screw adjusters ‘A’ and nuts ‘B’ into the extension ‘F’ (4).
I Fitting a 7cm & a 14cm Extension Together 1 Remove the screw adjusters ‘A’, nuts ‘B’ and the casings ‘C’ from the hinge side of the gate (1). Insert the long end of the extension ‘I’ directly into the frame making sure that the notches are facing downwards (2). Place the tops ‘J’ onto both ends of the slat ‘K’ (3). Place this on the short end of the extension ‘I’ (4).
