In response to market demand for a faster way to drive the BB5000
Boring Machine in a heavy use environment, Climax has developed
a new electric motor option for the BB5000. This new motor
provides power to the BB5000 through a variable speed, reversible
servo motor that can either be ordered with a new BB5000, or
ordered to replace an existing drive system.
The new servo motor provides variable control from 3 - 230 RPM in
either direction. This makes set-up, tool change and alignment much
faster and easier. The compact, lightweight servo drive system has
more power and eliminates the need for a hydraulic power unit.
Both the 230V and 460V options have CE and non-CE options.

• Provides the power of a hydraulic power unit without having to
haul the heavy power unit, hoses, and oil.
• Provides more torque than with 2.2 or 3.6 cubic inch hydrauxlic
motors, and with a greater RPM range than with any single
hydraulic motor.
