2.Disassembly
Removing the Mainboard and CRT board
1. Remove the battery (page 2 - 6), HDD (page 2 - 7), keyboard (page 2 - 9), system memory (page 2 - 8 & page 2 -
10), CPU (page 2 - 11), modems (page 2 - 12) and LCD assembly (page 2 - 13).
2. Ensure you have removed all the screws and disconnected the cables as part of the process of removing the LCD.
3. Carefully lift the top case module up off the bottom case and mainboard assembly (
Figure 2 - 11a).
4. Disconnect cables & (you may have already disconnected cable ) and remove screws - (
Figure 2 -
11b).
5. Separate the mainboard and CRT board assembly from the bottom case .
6. Turn the mainboard over and disconnect the cable , which connects the mainboard to the CRT board , in order
to separate the boards.

Sequence
a.Lift the top case
module off the bot-
tom case and main-
board assembly.
b. Disconnect the ca-
bles and remove the
screws.
c. Separate the main-
board and CRT
board assembly
from the bottom
case.
d. Turn the board over
and disconnect the
cable to separate
the boards.
