2.Disassembly
Removing the CPU
1. Remove the battery (page 2 - 6) and keyboard (page 2 - 9).
2. Remove screws - (Figure 2 - 6a) from the heat sink in the order indicated (when inserting a new or replace-
ment CPU, make sure you insert the screws in the same order indicated in
Figure 2 - 6a).
3. Disconnect the fan cable and slide the heat sink slightly to the left, then lift the heat sink out of the computer.
4. Use a small screwdriver to release the lock holding down the CPU by giving it a counter-clockwise turn towards the
open symbol.
5. Remove the CPU .

a. Remove the four
screws and fan con-
nector.
b. Remove the heat
sink.
c. Unlock the CPU.
d. Remove the CPU.

Caution
The heat sink, and
CPU area in general,
contains parts which
are subject to high
temperatures - Please
allow the area time to
cool before removing
these parts.
