How to Use the Thermometer
1 When Using Thermometer for the 1

Time:
•Openthebatterycompartmentcoverbyslidingittothesmall
endof thethermometer.
•Put2xAAAbatteriesintothebatterycompartmentin the
direction illustratedinsidethebatterycompartment.
•Replacethebatterycompartmentcover.
•Turnonandusethermometerasdescribedbelow.
Note: If the batteries have been inserted the wrong way, the thermometer
will not work and the handle might warm up, in which case immediately
remove the batteries (to prevent damaging the thermometer) and re-insert.
2 Switching Thermometer ON:
•ThethermometercanbeswitchedONinall3temperature
modes-Forehead,EarorAmbient(roomoroutside).
•Startbybrieflypressing‘On/Off/TakeTemp’buttonwhichturns
onthethermometer.Alliconswilldisplayonthescreenfor2
secondsfollowedbyashortbeepsoundindicatingthatthe
thermometerisnowreadytouse.Thescreenisalso
automaticallybacklitfor10seconds.
•OnceON,if theprobeisIN(Fig.7),thescreendisplays
theambienttemperaturewhichiscontinuedtobemeasured
untileitherthethermometeristurnedOFForthetemperature
modeischanged.
•OnceON,if theprobeisOUT(Fig.8),thescreendisplaysthe
lastearorforeheadtemperaturetaken.Brieflypressingthe
‘On/Off/TakeTemp’buttonnowwillmeasureearorforehead
temperature.
3 Switching Thermometer OFF:
•If ONinambienttemperaturemode,pressthe‘On/Off/Take
Temp’button-whichwillinstantlysoundanimmediateshort
beep-andholditfor3secondsuntilyouhearasecondshort
beepandOFFappearsonthescreen.
•If ONinEarorForeheadtemperaturemode,thethermometer
cannotbeswitchedoff manuallybecauseitturnsitself OFF
automaticallyafter30secondsif leftidle.Thisisapowersave
feature.If youwanttoswitchitOFFbefore30seconds,youcan
switchtoambienttemperaturemode(see6onnextpage)and
repeattheaboveoperation.
4 Measuring Ambient Temperature:
•If ONwiththeprobeIN(Fig.7),thethermometerisinAmbient
temperaturemodeasdisplayedonthescreenbyaHouse
icon.Nofurtheractionisrequiredasthetemperatureis
takenautomaticallyandwillautomaticallybere-takenevery4
minutes.
Note: Always keep the probe guard closed in Ambient temperature mode
to prevent a build up of dirt and dust on the probe.
