Step 10
Attach Tether Hook to vehicle top tether
anchor as shown in Figure 77 or 77a and
pull rmly on free end of strap until Top
Tether is snug.
Refer to vehicle owner’s manual for
recommended Top Tether routing and
identication of top tether anchor point.
St ep 11
Gripping car seat at top of armrests, pull car
seat front to back and left to right to check
for secure installation as shown in Figure 78.
LATCH belt and Top Tether must stay tight
and child restraint should not move more than
1” (2.5 cm) in any direction.
• If LATCH belt does not stay tight or car
seat cannot be securely installed, try a
different LATCH location or install using
the vehicle belt, see “Installing Forward-
Facing Car Seat With Vehicle Belt” on
page 63.

Step 1
Loosen Top Tether belt by pressing adjuster
release button while pulling strap as shown
in Figure 79.
Step 2
Pull in and hold retention spring on hook,
then remove hook from Tether Anchor as
shown in Figure 80 and 80a.
Step 3
Loosen LATCH Belt by pressing the adjuster
button and pulling out on LATCH Belt as
shown in Figure 81.
• Pressing down in center of car seat to
reduce tension on LATCH Belt will make
it easier to loosen LATCH Belt.
