Note: Use of the Anti-Rebound Bar with this
car seat is optional. In some vehicles it may
be easier to achieve a secure installation, at
the correct recline angle for your child either
with or without the Anti-Rebound Bar. The
installation process is the same with or without
the Anti-Rebound Bar.
Step 1
Rotate Recline Foot to Rear-Facing position by
pulling on edge of Recline Foot and rotating it
towards the front of the seat until it locks in to
position, as shown in Figure 39.
• If using the Anti-Rebound Bar, the Anti-
Rebound Bar must also be securely
attached to the seat, see “Installing/
Removing Anti-Rebound Bar” on page 79.
Step 2
Select a Forward-Facing vehicle seating
location which has LATCH.
Locate the LATCH lower anchors as shown
in Figure 40. See “Vehicle Child Restraint
Anchorage System (LATCH)” on page 26 in
this manual and check your vehicle owner’s
manual for further information.

Step 3
If the vehicle seat back is adjustable, make
sure the seat back is locked in a more upright
position. Refer to vehicle owner’s manual for
recommended seat back angle. DO NOT
install or use this car seat while the vehicle
seat back is excessively reclined, as shown in
Figure 41.
Step 4
Remove Seat Cushion, see “Removing/
Installing Seat Cushion” on page 78.
Remove LATCH belt from its storage location
under the Seat Cushion, see “LATCH Belt
Storage” on page 82.
Lengthen the LATCH belt by pressing the
adjuster release button while pulling belt to
extend the length of lower anchor belt as
shown in Figure 42.
Step 5
Route the LATCH Belt through the Rear-Facing
Belt Path, taking care that there are no twists
in the LATCH Belt. LATCH Belt adjuster must
be on the right side of the seat when facing
it, as shown in Figure 43.
