Counting System

Table 1-1 Counting System Components
Component Description
Display A touch screen that displays information for
the user and provides an interface for
operating the system.
In Scanner The area on which sponge and towel packs
are to be swiped when scanning them into a
surgical case.
Count Out Basin Receptacle to contain the discarded sponges
and towels after their use in surgery that
also counts the items out of the case.
Power Entry and On/Off Switch Connects the system to the power source via
the power cable. The On/Off switch toggles
the power to the system.
Data Ports Used by service personnel to diagnose and
service the system.
Power Cord Supplies power to the system from a wall
outlet.
