1. When you plug the mains plug into the plug socket, the operating lamp (4) lights
up. The device begins to heat up, and the temperature control lamp (15) lights
up. As soon as the set temperature is reached, this goes out. You can now iron.
2. As soon as you let go of the handle (16), the device automatically goes into
stand-by (automatic safety switch-off function) and the operating lamp fl ashes.
CAUTION: It takes a little while for the bottom of the iron to cool down.
Even if the device is in stand-by, never leave it unattended while it is still
connected to the mains power!
3. If you touch the handle, the device switches on (automatic switch-on function) and
the operating lamp lights up constantly.
• The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping out of the bottom of the iron at
low temperatures.
• Thanks to the ceramic coating on the bottom of the iron (8) the device slides effort-
lessly over the fabric during ironing.
• The anti-limescale system of the device removes the lime from the water if you use
tap water instead of distilled water for steam-ironing.
• The self-cleaning function (Self Clean button (12)) allows you to remove limescale
residues from the device, see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter.
Before Initial Use
CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
• Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness (see the "Items Sup-
plied and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If the device does have
any damage, do not use it(!), but contact our customer service department.
• Before using the device, remove all paper bags, plastic bags, fi lms, cardboard and
any labels that may be on the device and are used for protection or advertising du-
ring transportation.
• It is essential that you read through the "Ironing Recommendations" chapter before
you fi rst use the device!
Ironing Recommendations
• The device has the following temperature settings:
Setting MIN no heat supplied
Setting • low temperature, suitable for nylon and silk
Setting •• medium temperature, suitable for wool
Setting ••• high temperature, suitable for cotton
Setting MAX highest temperature, suitable for linen
