Owners manual
General Installation Notes:
Please read these instructions completely before beginning
the installation. If you have any questions please call.
Before beginning the installation, disconnect the negative
battery cable and use wheel chocks to block the vehicle's
wheels.
Make sure the engine, transmission, body and frame are
properly grounded. We recommend using anti-seize lubricant
on all aluminum threads.
Adjustable Shifter Arm Only: The angle of the Shifter Arm
can be adjusted forward or rearward if needed. With the
Shifter Arm laying flat on a table or workbench, remove
the three #6-32 x 5/8" Torx head bolts using a T10 Torx
driver. Remove the adjustment ring. Fig. 2
Reposition the upper lever at the angle you need, making
sure to align three equally-spaced holes in the upper
lever with threaded holes in the lower lever. Position the
adjustment ring on the upper lever so that the holes in it
line up with a set of holes in the upper and lower lever.
Reinstall the Torx head bolts.
Billet Shifter Arms with Mesh Insert Only: If you wish, the
mesh insert can be removed and replaced with another
material of a similar thickness, or left out entirely. Use
a 5/64" Allen wrench to remove the two #4-40 x 5/16"
socket head bolts from the right side of the Shifter Arm,
and remove the left panel and insert from the Shifter
Arm. Fig. 3 You can use the mesh insert as a template to
create your own insert. Reinstall the left panel and socket
head bolts with or without an insert.
Step 1: Remove any existing shifter arm and boot.
Step 2: Install the new Shifter Arm onto the transmission's
shifter mechanism, using the provided 3/8"-24 x 1-1/4"
button head bolts and nylock jam nuts.
Step 3: Install the Shifter Boot (not included) and Boot Ring
(not included), following the instructions that came
with those items.
Step 4: Install the 3/8"-16 x 1-1/4" set screw into the top of the
Shifter Arm, and tighten with a 3/16" Allen wrench.
Thread the 3/8"-16 jam nut onto the set screw. Thread
it all the way down until it touches the Shifter Arm, but
do not tighten. Fig. 4
Step 5: Install the shifter knob, and thread it down as far as it
will go. Then, back it off however much is necessary
to get the shifter pattern to be facing the correct
direction. While holding the knob in the correct
position, tighten the jam nut up against the bottom of
the shifter knob. Fig. 5
Refer to Fig. 1 for the component names.
