Owners manual
General Installation Notes:
Please read these instructions completely before beginning
the installation. If you have any questions please call.
Before beginning the installation, disconnect the negative
battery cable and use wheel chocks to block the vehicle's
wheels.
Make sure the engine, transmission, body and frame are
properly grounded. We recommend using anti-seize lubricant
on all aluminum threads.
Refer to Fig. 1 for the component names.
Step 1: Remove the existing door handle arms or window
crank arms. Clean the handle/crank shafts to remove
any dirt or rust.
NOTE: You will need a minimum of 3/8" of the shaft
protruding beyond the door panel in order to install
the new Handle or Crank.
Step 2: If this is a new installation and the handle/crank
shafts (not included) on the window regulator or door
handle mechanism are excessively long, the shafts
can be cut to the desired length. Be sure to leave
them long enough so that the shroud does not touch
the door panel and create wear.
Step 3: Remove the screw cover from the new handle/crank
arm. Use a 5/64" Allen wrench to remove the #8-32
button head or flat head screw from the splined
shaft insert. Separate the handle/crank arm from the
splined shaft insert and shroud. Slide the splined shaft
insert out of the shroud.
Step 4: Use a 5/64" Allen wrench to back out the #10-32 x 1/4"
set screws in the splined shaft insert, but do not remove
the set screws. Slide the splined shaft insert onto the
handle/crank shaft. Tighten the two #10-32 x 1/4" set
screws in the splined shaft insert against the shaft. Fig. 2
Step 5: Slide the shroud onto the splined shaft insert. Fig. 3
Step 6: Determine how you want the handle/crank arm to
be positioned. Slide the handle/crank arm onto the
splined shaft insert, making sure the alignment posts
on the splined shaft insert are seated in the alignment
holes in the handle/crank arm.
Note: It may be necessary to reposition the splined
shaft insert on the shaft in order to get the handle/
crank arm pointed in a specific direction.
Once you have the handle/crank arm in the position
you want, install the #8-32 button head or flat head
screw into the splined shaft insert, and tighten with a
5/64" Allen wrench. Fig. 4

Step 7: Install the screw cover onto the handle/crank arm. Fig. 5
On the PT-100 Series, make sure the alignment tab on
the underside of the screw cover is aligned with the
notch in the handle/crank arm.
If the screw cover needs to be removed in the future,
it can be pried away from the handle/crank arm
by carefully inserting a razor blade under the cover
(chrome screw cover) or using a fingernail or small
screwdriver (rubber screw cover).
Step 8, PT-100 Series Only: If you are going to be using the
optional handle/crank arm inserts, match up the
correct left and right insert with each handle/crank
arm. Carefully peel the backing paper off of the insert,
and press the insert into place on the handle/crank
arm.
