Appendix C: Windows XP IP Setup
If a PC running Microsoft XP™ is being used as the cOS Core management workstation, the
computer's Ethernet interface connected to the Clavister Security Gateway must be configured
with an IPv4 address which belongs to the network 192.168.1.0/24 and is different from the
security gateway's address of 192.168.1.1.
The IPv4 address 192.168.1.30 will be used for this purpose and the steps to set this up with
Windows XP are as follows:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Right click on My Network Places and select Properties.
3. Right click the chosen Ethernet interface and select Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. Enter the IPv4 addresses given above and click OK.
