Turn off: Ensure that the temperature control is in the
“MIN” position. Disconnect the mains plug
from the socket.
Function of the Handle (1)
The handle attached to the base serves for carrying the
appliance when the mains plug has been pulled from the
outlet.
• To carry the appliance, raise
the handle until it engages
(Fig. A). A “click” conrms
that the handle has been
locked. You can use the
handle for transport of the
appliance.
• To release the handle lock,
press the “UNLOCK” button (9) and put the handle down.
Temperature Control on the Iron (3)
The symbols on the control correspond to the following
settings:
(synthetics, silk) low temperature
(rayon, wool) medium temperature
(cotton, linen) high temperature
• Turn woolen clothes inside out to avoid shiny spots on the
fabric due to steam ironing. In addition, lay a thin cotton
cloth onto the fabric.
• Select a low temperature setting for fabrics with additional
surface treatment and iron them inside out.
NOTE:
The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Start ironing
with the lowest temperature setting.
Display and Function Buttons
Meaning of the Symbols on the Display:
Large amount of steam for the tempera-
ture ranges “COTTON” and “LINEN”
Small amount of steam for the tempera-
ture range “WOOL”
Hour meter for steam ironing time, preset
at 12:00 hours. The countdown to 00:00
hours only runs in “steam ironing” mode.
“Anti Calc”
Flashes when the anti chalk cartridge
must be replaced. Steam is no longer
produced.
Button Functions:
MODE
Choose between a large and small
amount of steam
With this button you set the hour meter
back to the starting position 12:00 hours
after you have changed the anti chalk
cartridge. Press the button for about
5 seconds.
ANTI CALC
Amount of Steam:
• Once you have the power cord connected to a power
outlet, a “large amount of steam” is always preset. Press
the button MODE once if you want to iron with the “small
amount of steam”.
• With the setting “large amount of steam”, the pump will
generate 100 % steam for 6 seconds. Thereafter, the
amount of steam will be reduced to 40 % by an electronic
control. The device takes about 15 seconds to produce
100 % steam again. Do not operate the steam button
during this time.
• By using the setting “small amount of steam” the pump
continuously generates 40 % steam.
Water Tank (10)
• The water tank has a recessed grip on the bottom so that
it can be removed. Press the button (11), to pull out the
tank.
• When sliding the tank back into the base, it must audibly
click into place.
• The ll opening (13) enables you to ll with water even
when the water tank is tted into the base.
• The “MAX” mark is located below the ll opening. Do not
ll the tank above this mark. The tank volume is 2.3 litres.
Water
NOTE:
We recommend using the appliance with distilled water
only. Using normal tap water can cause damage to the
appliance once the anti-scale lter cartridge is used up.
Do not ll battery water, water from the clothes dryer and
water containing additives (such as starch, perfume, softener
or other chemicals) into the water reservoir.
This could damage the iron due to residues forming in the
steam chamber. These residues may cause impurities to the
fabric when dropping out of the holes in the soleplate.
